Bristol and Cardiff Regional Manager
David joined John M Hayes in 2011 after obtaining a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies, a Graduate Diploma in Law and completing the Legal Practice Course at the University of the West of England. David was quickly promoted to Regional Manager of the Bristol Office in 2014 and the Cardiff office shortly after. David was later promoted to a Director in 2017.
David is responsible for the training, marketing and day to day running of Bristol and Cardiff offices as well as sitting on the Board of Directors. He also maintains a busy caseload preparing bills of costs in both publicly funded cases and Inter-Partes matters. David has extensive experience in dealing with the costs budgeting process and provides clients with a “Cradle to Grave” service, including preparing bills of costs, replies, advices and undertaking negotiations on his clients’ behalf all the way to detailed assessment.
David also has experience in dealing with costs relating to group claims and has been instructed to attend detailed assessment/ costs management hearings.
David regularly provides advice to clients on best practices and methods of improving costs recovery and efficiencies. David has taken a keen interest in supporting solicitors in their efforts to become paperless and has worked with many solicitors to make this possible and reduce their overheads. Out of the office David enjoys motorcycle racing and motocross and has taken part in one of the largest beach races in Europe. David takes an interest in boxing and martial arts, having trained and competed for many years. In the winter David likes to keep busy by going skiing when he can.
