We have been advised by the Legal Aid Agency that changes are to be made to the way that High Cost Care cases are to be dealt with; they have confirmed the following:
There will be a communication from LAA/Rep Bodies confirming changes to VHCC Family Care Cases in August.
The changes do not come into effect until 1st Oct.
A full update will be provided once the new Guidance has been released. However, as we currently understand it, from 1st October, high costs care cases are to be dealt with using revised CCFS models rather than the traditional hourly rates case plans (although some circumstances will allow escape from the events model).
