LAPG Annual Conference 2018

We are proud to be sponsoring the Legal Aid Practitioners Group (LAPG) annual conference again this year in London on Friday the 5th of October.

LAPG is a leading representative body for the legal aid sector and does invaluable work fighting for a legal aid system to protect all the vulnerable in society as well as rewarding and recognising the hard work that Legal Aid Lawyers undertake. The annual conference is part of the ongoing training and support that LAPG provides for Legal Aid Lawyers.

This year’s key note speaker is the Rt Hon Sir Andrew McFarlane who also won the outstanding achievement award at this year’s Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards (LALYS). He had us and the audience gripped during his thank you speech at the LALYS and we look forward to his key note presentation.

There are a wide variety of workshops and presentations examining what the future holds for access to justice as well as providing useful and practical information for legal aid practitioners.

Our Associate and South East Regional Manager Laura Bennett will be presenting on maximising costs in family cases alongside our National Legal Aid Training Coordinator Kenny Shealey and Jane Pritchard of Elawvate. The session will also cover best practice for CCMS and billing efficiently.

Our Associate and North West Regional Manager Christopher McClure will be presenting a second session on Inter Partes Costs Orders in civil publically funded cases whilst Jane Pritchard of Elawvate will be looking at the top tips for digital billing.

Our team will be present on the day and happy to assist with any costs related queries.
