Bristol and Cardiff Assistant Regional Manager
Shaun joined John M Hayes in 2008 having obtained a BA (Hons) Degree in Law and Geography from the University of the West of England.
Shaun assists with the management of the Bristol and Cardiff office and training. In addition to his office duties Shaun manages a mixed caseload in both Inter-Partes and Legal Aid matters. Shaun is a senior member of the team and is a regular “go to” Costs Draftsman for clients and costs draftsmen.
Shaun has extensive experience in providing a “Cradle to Grave” service for clients in Inter-Partes matters. Shaun regularly prepares and negotiates on Costs Budgets, prepares Precedent Rs, bills of costs, points of dispute/ replies and documents for Detailed Assessment. Shaun takes a no nonsense and pragmatic approach to negotiating a client’s costs, thereby ensuring maximisation of costs recovery whilst keeping the client’s expenditure to a minimum.
Shaun is versed in dealing with Court of Protection work and all Legal Aid matters including, but not limited to, preparing bills of costs, CCMS claims and High Costs Case Plans. Shaun also provides training to new and current Costs Draftsmen on all aspects of Legal Aid costs.
Shaun’s work sometimes requires him to work in-house for clients and Shaun meets with clients in order to provide training/ advise on best practices in order to maximise their costs recovery. If you would like a meeting with Shaun, please e-mail him at Shaun.Williams@johnmhayes.co.uk.
Outside the office Shaun enjoys socialising with friends and spending time with his two young children. He enjoys most sporting activities especially cricket, football and squash. Having toured New Zealand, Australia and Thailand Shaun has developed a taste for travelling to places of interest.
