Andrew initially qualified to degree level in Accounting & Law via Newcastle University, followed by a Diploma in Legal Practice at Northumbria University.
He has worked in Legal Costs since 2009 which has involved, inter alia,: i) undertaking costs work in a wide range of applications, including High Costs Case Plans and all stages of the costs budgeting process ii) regular attendance at costs hearings on behalf of clients (including Appeals on Legal Aid Assessments, applications for relief from sanctions and high value commercial costs disputes) iii) providing “in house” training to Law Firms, designed to improve efficiency and productivity iv) working in unusual or sensitive procedures on behalf of clients, whilst providing interim advice and attending client premises where required.
Andrew has established long-term relationships with clients, and is available for ad-hoc advice and explanation on procedures/issues. Andrew has also provided commentary on a number of legal costs issues, including:
Interested in all sports, and keeps himself fit by regularly using the gym, and undertaking several half-marathons annually. Cumbrian born, and cosmopolitan in outlook.
