Kate joined John M Hayes in April 1991 having gained a degree in Librarianship and English Literature from the University of Central England.

Until recently, Kate maintained a busy case load.  Her vast experience has enabled Kate to deal with matters from legal aid files to large scale corporate commercial claims.  During her 22 years with John M Hayes Kate has developed a specialist interest in clinical negligence claims, particularly birth injury and Erb’s palsy cases.  

Kate is a capable and experienced cost advocate and has delivered seminars to Solicitors and regional Law Societies on many costs related issues. Kate is also practiced in reporting on budgets, key performance indicators, staff requirements, risk assessment and strategy to clients.

In June 2014, following a period as Deputy Managing Director, Kate took over the role of Chief Executive.  Kate manages this role in addition to managing the Ilkley (Leeds) office from which she is based.

Kate is a busy mum to five, an enthusiastic cook and a keen open water swimmer.
