On the 24th November the Legal Aid Agency announced that they had introduced a new ‘urgent flag function' in CCMS so that you can let them know when an urgent piece of work has been submitted. This will remove the need to contact the customer service team to advise them of an urgent submission.
For these purposes urgent work is defined as:
Work that needs to be completed within 48 hours
Is not already covered under the scope of the existing certificate (if a certificate exists).
If the above criteria are not met then the urgent flag will be removed and the item will not be expedited; however the urgent flag is not required if an application satisfies the criteria specified in Regulation 46 of the Civil Legal Aid (Merits Criteria) Regulations 2013.
