CCMS Snapshot Survey 2017
LAPG has launched a survey to gather feed back on CCMS. The survey is aimed at all practitioners (not just LAPG members) and is looking to collate experiences (both good and bad) and comments of users working with CCMS on a day to day basis. The information will be used to lobby the LAA for change and will be shared with the LAA, MOJ, politicians, other representative bodies and interested parties.
LAPG says:
“Our members are consistently telling us about difficulties with CCMS and how it is affecting their ability to advise and represent their clients. Members are saying that it also impacts on the financial viability of practices. We have designed this survey to collect meaningful data so that we can identify problems and press for the system to be improved.”
LAPG also wants to hear from those who are using the system without experiencing difficulties.
“We’re collecting general feedback about stability, usability, support and time, but also specific examples of problems you may have encountered with applications, amendments and bills/POAs and examples of where the system has taken an incorrect or unexpected action.”
The survey will close on 3rd March 2017. You can take the survey here.
Our own Head of Legal Aid and CCMS specialist David Smith wrote an article on 27th January this year, noting the 12 month anniversary of the introduction of CCMS for care cases and asking the question “Fit For Purpose ?”. In the article, David briefly explores two problematic aspects of the billing process in CCMS that are not always highlighted: appeal bills and nil bills.
Don’t forget the survey closes on 3rd March.
As LAPG says, “It is in all our interests to have a functioning system for legal aid.”
