Precedent S and The New Electronic Bill of Costs
The 92nd Practice Making document was published on November 20th, and it is one of the most significant developments in the recent history of the costs profession, even when set against the background of LASPO and the significant upheaval that caused.
It is available here, and it confirms that the new electronic bill of costs (Precedent S) will be mandatory for all Part 7 Multi Track matters in respect of costs incurred after 6 April 2018.
Precedent S itself can be seen here.
John M Hayes’s clients can rest assured that there is no need to be panicked into purchasing expensive time-recording software before the end of the financial year. Our experienced costs lawyers and costs draftsmen have access to costs drafting software that will enable a Precedent S compliant bill to be prepared no matter what system you operate, and will be able to answer all your questions leading up to the transition.
