Meet Chris Hepworth, High Costs Case Expert
Chris started working for John M Hayes in April 2001. He is married with two grown up children and lives in Guiseley, West Yorkshire.
High Costs Case Plans
A costs expert in family legal aid and Court of Protection matters, Chris holds a special interest in high costs case matters, having prepared over 170 high cost case plans in the last eight years with a combined case value in excess of £8 million.
Chris is a powerhouse of technical knowledge and is noted for his calm, efficient manner, his ability to project manage difficult cases and his excellent results. He is a familiar figure at the High Cost Case Unit in Jarrow and the Special Cases Units at London and Cardiff.
Alongside consistency of approach, an eye for detail and a super quick turn around on files, Chris understands the importance and need to retain sensitive case files in-house and is available to work in-house at Solicitor premises to minimise disruption.
Sample Case Study
A Solicitor had requested assistance to resolve her problematic High Costs Case Plan, which had been outstanding for three years. It transpired that final Claim 1’s had been prepared, but had not been accepted by the High Costs Case Unit, who had raised a number of difficult queries. Chris went in-house, reviewed the files to assess the position and drafted revised Claim 1’s together with a detailed two page response to the Case Unit. The Claim 1’s were successfully paid quickly without further query, thereby concluding the matter, removing a headache from the Solicitor’s workload and easing cash flow.
